My Middle School Year

Filed under: Uncategorized — rachel @ 9:19 am and

I had a very good year these 3 years that I have been in school. I think these are going to be my best years of my life. In 6th grade I had one of the best teams in the school. They were the best teachers ever. Mrs. Smolley and Mr. Fil were very nice and they loved having me as a student. The next year in 7th grade I didn’t like my teachers as much in 6th grade. I had teachers that didn’t like me as much as the following year. This year kind of put me down. But as I went in to 8th grade everyone was telling me that I had the best team. I was now happy over the summer. I think this team made me actually like school. I love school now because of this team. I think that in the beginning of the year I loved having my own blog and wiki space. All of my teachers in 8th grade were so nice and they didn’t give a lot of homework. This 8th grade team inspired me so much that school is the number 1 reason in life. In the winter I tried out for the basketball team. I made the team and was so happy to have that on me. I had a great season even though I didn’t play a lot I still had a very great time being there. In the spring I went out for the track and field team. I loved it at first because I thought I would lose a few pounds and get more fit for summer. That did happen, but I started not to like it as much. I think it was too much running for me to do in one week. I asked my mom if I could quit but she said that if I am on the team that I have to stay on the team until the season was over. I was kind of happy that I did stay because I was invited to the track and field state championship. And I got to run the 400 meters and at the end of the long day the girls track and field team came in1st overall in the meet. That made me so happy to be part of the team that won that championship. I hope that I keep my 8th grade in my mind because this year made me think totally different about school and the importance of it.

My true, real HERO!!!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — rachel @ 2:16 pm and

I consider my mom as my real hero. I think this because she is always there to catch me when I fall or help me it is needed. She is also my hero because when I am sick and have to stay home from school she is always there to take care of me. Also she is my real hero because when I am playing in a sport she always there to support me and cheer me on. I think that is the best mom that you can have.  MY MOM IS THE BOMB!

Voting in America

Filed under: Uncategorized — rachel @ 6:05 pm and

I think a requirment to be able to vote for the United States president should be, people that are U.S citizens and are 18 years old or older. Also I think that if the Electral College was abolished then the president should elected with the popular vote.

What if my name was a verb?

Filed under: Uncategorized — rachel @ 10:57 am and

If my name was a verb I think it would be running. I think that because I love running I think it is so fun because it gets you into shape and helps you brathe better and stay fit too. I also think it because all the Rachel’s i know also love running, which is kinda weird. I am on the track and field team so in the next month I am going to be running alot. Write a comment and tell me what your name would be if it was a verb.

My Story of the Trail of Tears

Filed under: Uncategorized — rachel @ 5:52 am and

I feel strong on this horse, like I’m the king of the world. As head of mt Cherokee family, I led my people to a safer place because of that horrible Andrew Jackson. He forced me and my family off our land, east of the Mississippi River. As we walked this long journey, I saw some of my family members die. Mostly of starvation, but others of exhaustion and disease. As we crossed the Mississippi River people even drown. As we reached the Indian Territory, all of my people and family had to rebuild our homes and villages. It was so much work. We lost our vote to keep our land because even though most voted to keep the land the government over ruled and forced me and my tribe out. We should be the ones to choose where we move or not. The government was not fair in ordering us out of our land.

Differences of blogging in my life

Filed under: Uncategorized — rachel @ 4:53 pm and

Blogging has made a huge difference in my life at home and in school. At home I write alot of my homework on the computer and I am able to talk to may different people from so many different countries. At school it has changed so much because first it gets rid of alot of written hmework, but it is different because we do skype calls, and going on other peoples blogs and checking out peoples posts and comments. That is what blogging has done to my life.

The Three R’s

Filed under: Uncategorized — rachel @ 7:52 am and

The three R’s are reduce, reuse, and recylce. At our school we have two recycle bins and one is for paper and one for bottles and cans. At my house we go the the grocery store and get money for all of our cans and bottles that we drink at my house. Also we have a recycle bin at my house that we can throw away cardbord and other things that can be recycled too!

Actions or Intentions????

Filed under: Uncategorized — rachel @ 6:49 am and

I think that actions are more important because if you have an intention which is only an idea, and if you follow through with it an action will happen and it can change many things like: people, places, and the Earth itself. Like helping change pollution in the ocean. If you have a really good idea or intention and your action works out perfect to help get cans, bottles and other debris out of the water. Your action is what helped the ocean more than just the intention. This story really inspired me to write that action is more important than intetions because a school gets the newspaper everyday, but they have to pay for it everyday to get it. The Publisher of the newspaper didn’t send it to the whole school district that day and everyone was suprised why it wasn’t sent. They e-mailed the Publisher to ask what the problem was why they wern’t gettin the newspaper and he sais that it had a graphic picture of something. The teachers got really mad at the man because he didn’t send it. They also got really mad because he didn’t call the school that he wasn’t sending the newspaper. And they also got mad because most of the teachers, they don’t read the newspaper at school, they read it at their own home.
